Rubin 10/1000, the 'maxi' cultivator from Lemken
Lemken is expanding its range of compact disc cultivators with the Rubin 10/1000 model, a machine with a 10-metre working width which, despite its large 645 millimetre discs, is approved for road use (three metres wide, four metres high) at speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour. Like the smaller models in the series, the Rubin 10/1000 also features a symmetrical arrangement of the discs. This technical solution is designed by the German manufacturer to reduce fuel consumption. The new Lemken harrow can be coupled to the tractor by means of a ball-and-socket joint or a towing eye - a hydraulic support facilitates attachment and removal of the implement - and is equipped with two rows of concave toothed discs that improve soil processing operations, while the 14 centimetre spacing ensures ideal tillage even with large volumes of organic matter. All concave discs are equipped with an overload protection with damped kickback, which contains the loads on the frame. The pendulum suspension is another plus of this model, because - the manufacturer explains in a technical note - it allows the implement to adapt to the shape of the terrain even on very uneven and sloping soils. Furthermore - the technical note goes on to say - the hydraulic working depth adjustment system (it can be changed during field operations) allows the Rubin 10/1000 to respond effectively and promptly to changing ground conditions. When manoeuvring at the headland, the equipment is supported by the roller equipped with particularly strong bearings: its large contact area minimises soil compaction.
