The MF 5M series tractors for precision agriculture
Massey Ferguson introduces its updated MF 5M Series, which includes six tractors with power ranging from 95 to 145 horsepower. “The new efficient and reliable MF 5M line introduces a series of features that enhance its performance. All models – explains Massey Ferguson Marketing Director for Europe and the Middle East, Jérôme Aubrion, – are now standardly equipped with the proven Dyna-4 transmission and feature an innovative electronic architecture that makes the MF 5M tractors even more 'smart'”.
The six models in the range are powered by AGCO Power four-cylinder Stage V engines with the innovative "All-in-One" system, positioned beneath the cabin, with the exhaust in line with the cab's right front pillar , to offer optimal visibility. The greater capacity, 198 -liter fuel tank is 24% larger than previous models, and makes it possible to work longer between refuelling, helping to reduce downtime. As already noted, all MF 5M Series tractors are equipped with the highly efficient Dyna-4 transmission, which allows gear changes without using the clutch and has 16 forward and 16 reverse gears for a maximum Eco speed of 40 km/h. The optional AutoDrive feature offers automatic gear shifting in Power or Eco modes, together with the Brake-to-Neutral function, which automatically disengages the drive when the brake pedals are pressed, without using the clutch pedal, thus ensuring precision and comfort along with smoother operation. The MF 5M Series features a 58 liter/min open center hydraulic system, with a 100 liter/min option available, up to 3 spool valves and rear lift of maximum 5,200 kg and front lift of 2,500 kg.
The new Massey Ferguson tractors are particularly suitable for front loader work and are highly regarded for their maneuvering agility, with a turning radius of just 4.65 meters. The large cabin, with 1.3 meters of useful internal width, is distinctive for its comfort and visibility, while the enhanced air conditioning system increases the flow and distribution of air around the operator, making work easier, especially in the hot summer months. The cabin suspension system (optional) contributes to improving driver comfort, as it is able to absorb a greater quantity of vibrations compared to previous models. The technological equipment of the 5M is also top-notch, including the Fieldstar 5 touch-screen terminal and the MF Guide “platform” with automatic trajectory control. Some of the 5M's automatic features include section control to automatically manage up to 96 different sections, dosage control to automatically vary the application of products and MF Connect telemetry which provides real-time remote control of the vehicle.
Last but not least, the optional electronic multifunction joystick and two electro-hydraulic spool valves with or without loader control, which offers more hydraulic solutions and greater comfort, thanks to the transmission control incorporated in the joystick itself, and exceptional ergonomics.
