The spotlight was on the high-tech solutions offered by the American manufacturer John Deere at CES, the major consumer electronics show held in Las Vegas (USA) from 7 to 11 January. The focus was mainly on systems for the automation of agricultural machinery based on computer vision devices (AI and cameras), which allow mechanical vehicles to orient themselves in the surrounding environment and work autonomously. These technologies have already been successfully introduced by the American company on some particularly innovative models such as the 9RX tractor, suitable for working on larger surface areas; the specialized 5ML, ideal for compressed air spraying; the 130 horsepower E-Power electric orchard tractor; the battery-powered lawnmower for green care, equipped with front and rear cameras for 360-degree coverage of the area to be cut. Also featured at John Deere's stand at CES was the P-Tier 460 articulated dump truck (ADT) for transporting materials in quarries. All vehicles are managed through the cloud platform called Operation Center Mobile, which allows the operator to start the machine remotely and monitor the progress of the work in real time (for example, through images) and even modify the vehicle's operation depending on the specific environmental conditions. Operators will be notified of any anomalies in order to make any necessary adjustments.
