The Globe Series starts of the Landini production in Turkey
The Sekerpinar production plant was inaugurated in April, thanks to a joint venture between the Emilia-based company and the Turkish holding company Anadolu Group. It starts with the production of the four Globe models, which by the end of the year will be followed by the Rex, Powerfarm and 5H
The new production plant inaugurated in April by Landini in Turkey in Sekerpinar, fifty kilometres south of Istanbul, on the Asian side, in the province of Kocaeli, will produce tractors of the Globe range (four models ranging from 50 to 75 Hp). The plant, explains the company from Fabbrico (Reggio Emilia), is the result of a 50% joint venture stipulated in September between Argo Tractors and the Turkish multinational Anadolu Group, a holding company active in different sectors, including the automotive industry, as well as energy and agri-food. “We are pleased to bring together the experience of Anadolu Group accumulated over 68 years with our Italian partner, which boasts 134 years of history in the design, development and production of tractors. This agreement - commented the president of Anadolu Group,Tuncay Özilhan, presenting the plant - will help our countries, supporting agriculture, export and employment”. It is therefore a strategic partnership for both Groups. “Turkey’s agricultural production is significant in terms of volumes and quality, and this investment is of great importance to us,” said the president of Argo Tractors,Valerio Morra, speaking at the inauguration of the Sekerpinar site. “The four Landini Globe models that will be produced in the new plant - added Morra - have been specifically designed and planned to adapt to the conditions of the terrain in Turkey”. The partnership between Landini and Anadolu comes at a time of great vitality for the Turkish agricultural machinery market, which in 2017 saw the production of 72,032 tractors. The president of the Automotive Group of Anadolu,Bora Koçak, stated that the figure represents a real record for Ankara. “Our goal - said Koçak - is to grow even more in the agricultural segment, where we aim to increase our investments. Local tractor production will reach about 42% by the end of this year and 85% by 2019. During 2020 we expect to reach 100% for some of the models marketed in our country”. According to the forecasts of the company from Fabbrico, in 2018 the Globe series should meet almost half of the market demands, making room, by the end of the year, also for the production of other models, also under the Landini brand, such as the Rex, Powerfarm and 5H. In short, the Emilian team and Anadolu Group have forged a truly strategic partnership. The reason was also explained by Hayati Kösoğlu, General Manager of Anadolu Landini. “Landini tractors - clarified Kösoğlu - will allow our farmers to achieve high performance, ensuring power and quality at the right price. The experience and history of our partner Argo Tractors and the high satisfaction of our farmers with Landini tractors are the pillars of this initiative”. But the entrepreneurial project of Landini and Anadolu Group is not limited to Turkey, because the basic idea is to export the production of Sekerpinar also beyond the Bosphorus, in all those markets that have characteristics and requirements similar to those of Turkey.
