High productivity for the Trion 740 combine harvester
CLAAS is expanding the Trion 740 range with two new 1,420 mm drum combine harvesters. These are the TRION 740 TERRA TRAC and TRION 740 MONTANA models, equipped with APS HYBRID threshing technology and ROTO PLUS single rotor. This combination is particularly advantageous for northern European regions where harvesting conditions are often unfavourable. But the new combines from Claas offer top-notch performance even in the much milder conditions of southern and south-eastern Europe. “While grain and straw yields are satisfactory in these areas, with significantly wider cutter bars or maize pick-ups and higher ground speeds, it is not uncommon for customers to push machines to the limit of their performance. In addition - explains Philipp Stiens, Global Product Team Manager Large and Medium Combines at Claas - we should not underestimate the fact that in Europe there are still very high standards regarding the quality of straw, which together with the power of the installed engine is a fundamental purchasing criterion in this particular market segment." Performance and productivity combined with reduced consumption and high straw quality are therefore the strengths of the new TRION 740, offered by the German manufacturer in both wheeled and semi-tracked versions. The powerful 8.9-litre Cummins six-cylinder engine delivers an impressive 435 horsepower (at 1,900 rpm) and offers all the power needed to perform even the most demanding tasks, yet without burdening fuel consumption. Indeed, thanks to the Dynamic Power intelligent power management system, fuel consumption is 10% lower (manufacturer's data) than that of models in the same category. The APS HYBRID threshing unit is equipped with a 1,420 mm drum, a 450 mm pre-accelerator and a 600 mm threshing drum with MULTICROP design. The threshing unit, as well as the ROTO Plus rotor – it is a single rotor with a diameter of 570 mm, a length of 4,200 mm and up to 4 optional flaps hydraulically adjustable from the cab – can be adjusted independently. This solution allows the new CLAAS combines to adapt to a wide variety of crops and harvesting conditions, with reduced losses and high processing quality. On the TRION 740, the German manufacturer has provided two different types of tanks: one with a capacity of 11 thousand litres and one with a capacity of 12 thousand, while the tank discharge pipe, with a width of up to 12 metres, has a flow rate of 110 or 130 litres per second. With the TRION 740, you can choose from a wide range of optional equipment, such as the CERIO cutter bars with a working width of up to 9.30 m and the VARIO, CONVIO and CONVIO FLEX cutter bars with working widths of up to 12.30 m. Also optional are the new ROVIO maize pick-up bars from 6 to 12 rows; CEMOS operator assistance systems in various configuration levels; tank unloading augers and straw and chaff spreading systems. For automatic driving, the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 is available, which, with the relevant activations, it also enables yield mapping for precision farming.
