Ultrasonic sensors debut on Eurospand fertilizer spreaders
|
For localized distribution in rows from 1.5 to 10 meters wide, inside greenhouses, in row crops (vegetables) and for open field fertilization, Eurospand offers the David Fruit and Delta Fruit fertilizer spreader models designed to offer remarkable operational versatility. In 2024, the Cuneo-based company (headquartered in Boves) is adding a significant piece to inter-row fertilization: ultrasound sensors that detect plants and activate spreading only when nearby, thus preventing fertilization in unnecessary areas. The extensive range of the sensors can be adjusted by the user according to the crop and makes it possible to work even in the case of large inter-row distances, while the two hydraulic solenoid valves provide an equally rapid start and stop to fertilizer delivery. The amounts to be distributed and the spreading length are managed by a controller that activates the two solenoid valves, with independent operation of the two sides for work in irregular fields. Moreover it is possible to deactivate the sensors if so desired and to use the machine for standard inter-row or open-field spreading operations. To make things easier for the farmer at work between the rows, the calculations of the parameters to be set on the controller can be done in two simple steps using the Eurospand App. The App has a section for calculating the parameters of the fertilizer spreader with the sensors. Simply enter the crop data to obtain the correct values to set on the controller and the angle at which to tilt the two sensors. The regulation of the opening of the shutters is also managed via the App, merely by setting the quantity of fertilizer necessary for each plant (in kilograms) in order to get the correct value to set the dispensing shutters.
