New additions to the range of MF mowers and rakes
Massey Ferguson announces new hay and forage equipment. The MF RK range welcomes 12 new heavy-duty Butterfly mowers and 6 new two-rotor rakes.
The mowers include the Butterfly MF DM 9614 and MF DM 10114 models, available in 12 versions, designed to meet the operational needs of large companies and agricultural mechanics professionals.
The vehicles have working widths of up to 9.6 m, in combination with a 3 m front mower, for the 9614 model; and up to 10.1 m for the 10114 with a 3.5 m mower (the latter is for users without road travel needs and for countries without road restrictions).
All versions feature a heavy-duty, multi-tine spur gear drive cutter bar with 14 mower discs with blades at 90° to adjacent ones operating with counter-knives for optimum cutting and material flow.
The mowers come standard with either a tine rotor (KC) or roller (RC) conditioner. The latter features a drive on both rollers with a new “steel on steel” option for heavier and denser crops such as alfalfa.
The four PRO versions are equipped with ISOBUS control which allows the automation of various functions. Set the system directly from the control panel to vary the conditioning, adapting it to the density of the crop to obtain a uniformly dry product.
Connect the front and rear mowers by means of hydraulic hoses or the ISOBUS TIM (Tractor Implement Management) for manual or automatic lateral movement for the front mower, in order to reduce errors when turning on slopes and automatically adjust the ground pressure via the TurboLift for the rear mower: when the rear mower is raised, it automatically centers itself and also lifts when reversing.
Use GPS positioning to automatically lift the mower at headlands or on previously worked areas, significantly relieving stress on operators.
The PRO models can also be requested with a belt conveyor that moves the material to the center for swaths from 1.6 m to 3 m. Another possible option is the use of a more powerful hydraulic motor to drive the belts which allows them to work faster.
The new mowers supplement the MF DM 8612 TL and MF DM 9614 TL models - still on the market - for jobs that require lighter or smaller vehicles.
The new additions to the MF RK range of rakes include two-rotor models that create a central swath, with working widths from 6.9/7.6 m up to 8.8/10 m.
The new RKs boast new features that supplement the design of the previous models in the same series. These include the use of ISOBUS control in the three PRO versions for automated functions that improve efficiency and work quality.
The new speed-dependent raking height adjustment system – FlexHIGH – automatically raises and lowers the machine to maintain optimum working height and ensure greater working speeds with less forage contamination. Another new feature is the MyMemory option which maintains the height, working width and swath parameters used before the machine moves to the transport position, moving from one working field to another.
And then there is Section Control which automatically raises and lowers the rotors based on GPS position information. A patented gearbox allows all models – except the large MF RK 1102 TRC Pro – to fold down to a height of less than 4 m without removing the arms. Removing the arms on the 1102 TRC Pro can bring it down to 4m.
Finally, once again across the new range the rotors can be lifted individually, using a standard electric control unit to overcome obstacles on smaller fields – this function can be performed with the automatic closed center load sensing (CCLS) system on the PRO versions.
According to Jérôme Aubrion, Marketing Director for Massey Ferguson Europe and the Middle East “with these new additions, Massey Ferguson demonstrates its commitment to customers, from small farmers to large contractors, by providing the widest possible choice precisely to meet their specific needs".
