More power for Massey Ferguson 9S

High powers are becoming more and more protagonists. In this context, Massey Ferguson debuts in Hanover the tractors of its new flagship series, the MF 9S, six models with which the AGCO brand will reach 425 Hp. It is in fact the most powerful tractor ever built at the French plant in Beauvais. Massey Ferguson is talking about a particularly innovative tractor, the result of a journey that began in 2020 with the 8S series, a project that has been further improved on every front. Starting from the Protec-U design capable of significantly reducing vibrations and bringing noise levels to 69dBa and the new cab, which has spaces and dimensions of absolute importance: 3.4 m³ of volume and 6.6 m² of glass surface. All connection, control and management systems have also been improved with MF AutoTurn, AutoHeadland and Tractor Implement Management (Isobus) solutions. Let's go back under the hood. The six models of the MF 9S series are equipped with an 8.4-litre AGCO Power engine (Stage V), six cylinders, with power ranging from 285 Hp of the 9S.285 to 425 Hp of the 9S.425. The maximum torque at 1,500 rpm varies from 1,250 Nm of the smallest model to 1,750 Nm of the top of the range; the maximum power is obtained at 1,850 rpm, 100 less than in the past. The tank has a capacity of 660 litres to which 68 litres of AdBlue are added. All tractors of the MF 9S series can be equipped with the new Ctis (Central Tyre Inflation System) system for the control and adjustment of tyre pressure. A system that, according to Massey Ferguson, is able to reduce fuel consumption by 10-15% and minimize soil compaction, a significant aspect for a tractor of such high power. The MF 9S are equipped with a continuously variable transmission, the Dyna-Vt, and benefit from an enhanced ECO hydraulic system, capable of delivering 205 litres/min at 1,650 rpm or 270 litres/min at 1,850 rpm. The main flow rate comes from a Load Sensing closed-loop pump with a Power Beyond solution to deal with the most demanding tools. A new closed center dual pump option, which delivers 340 liters/min at 1,650 rpm or 400 liters/min at 1,850 rpm, is available with six distributors with decompression levers. One pump provides continuous flow to three valves, while another provides variable flow to the other three and deals with auxiliary circuits, such as steering. The new suspended front axle allows, obviously depending on the tyres used, a turning radius of only 5.75 m. Higher maximum permissible mass, 16 tons at 50 km/h, 1,000 kg more than in the past and maximum combined mass up to 50 tons. To deal with night work, up to 27 LED lights give 360° illumination of the work area.
