Fendt 600 Vario, compactness has new parameters

Four completely new models to make an impact in the very important power range between 150 and 200 Hp. Fendt will debut the new 600 Vario series (614 Vario, 616 Vario, 618 Vario and 620 Vario) in Hanover with power outputs between 149 and 209 Hp (110-154 kW) according to ECE R120. For the first time, the additional power of the Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP), which can release up to 15 additional Hp if required, is available in every model of the series: the top-of-the-range Fendt 620 Vario can thus reach a maximum output of 224 Hp. The range is equipped, exclusively for Fendt, with the Agco Power CORE50 engine, a 5-litre four-cylinder with diesel oxidation catalytic converter after-treatment system, diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction without exhaust gas recirculation. The CORE50 engine, in line with Stage V emission standards, is also prepared for alternative fuels such as HVO, to operate with lower CO2 emissions in the future. Powertrain and VarioDrive transmission in combination form the Fendt VarioDrive driveline with a unique working range. This is a completely new generation of continuously variable transmission technology. The basis is the single-range drive train with independent control of the front and rear axles. The transmission continuously measures the slip on all four wheels and sensitively adjusts the power supply. For the first time, Fendt VarioDrive combines the key functions of maximum tractive power, ground protection with minimum wear and revolutionary manoeuvrability. The dynamic control prevents tyre slip, ensuring maximum traction regardless of the terrain.  The so-called pull-in-turn effect pulls the machine into corners thanks to axle-independent control with a turning radius that is reduced to just 10.2 metres with 540/65 R30 tyres. The innovative Fendt iD low-speed concept makes its debut in this compact power class. All components - engine, gears, hydraulics and cooling system - have been designed according to the "low revs-high torque" principle (the rated speed is only 1,900 rpm, while within the main working range it is 1,350 to 1,800 rpm). The top model Fendt 620 Vario can reach a maximum speed of 50 km/h at 1,250 rpm. The maximum torque of 950 Nm of the top model Fendt 620 Vario is available from just 1,200 to 1,600 rpm. With a power-to-weight ratio of only 34.4 kg per Hp and compact exterior dimensions, the Fendt 620 Vario stands out due to its outstanding manoeuvrability. The gross vehicle weight of 13.5 t also allows the tractor to be used as a heavy hauler and guarantees operational safety during transport. Another important fact is the ratio of payload to operating weight. Here, the Fendt 600 Vario achieves a high ratio of 75 per cent in the compact standard tractor class (5.8 t payload/7.7 t operating weight). The 600 Vario series is equipped with the FendtOne operating system, which combines smart farming and farm management solutions for field and office use. With the FendtOne onboard, the multifunctional joystick, 10" digital dashboard and 12" terminal on the armrest are standard. Intelligent functions such as the Fendt Guide automatic steering system, the Fendt automatic section control (SC) or the use of the Fendt Variable Rate Control (VRC) are displayed as required on the individually assignable boxes on the terminals. The hydraulic system provides up to five couplings at the rear, up to two at the front and up to three independent couplings in the centre. It is characterised by its modular design and its capacity to deliver a maximum of 205 litres. The design allows the use of standard hydraulic couplings or the more efficient and leak-free FFC couplings. The new front linkage relief control shifts the weight of the implement proportionally to the front axle of the tractor, thereby increasing traction. For now, the tractors of the Fendt 600 Vario series can only be ordered: serial production will start in the summer of 2024.
