The city of Tarquinia, in the province of Viterbo, is hosting from 30 April to 4 may, the traditional Fair of Agricultural Machinery that this year has reached its 65th edition. During the same period the 520th edition of the Fair of Tarquinia will be held in the historic centre of the Etrucan town. More than 1,500 metres lined with stands will display gastronomic and artisan products, flowers and plants, clothing items, farm animals and pets. Also, since the end of the 1940s, the fair has exhibited a vast range of merchandise and equipment for work. The event, organized by the Pro Tarquinia with the sponsorship of the Region Lazio, the Province of Viterbo and the City of Tarquinia, will host 380 firms on a surface of 22,000 m². It will exhibit various types of machinery and equipment for cultivation and livestock breeding, with a large section dedicated to construction and off-road vehicles. Many mechanic-agricultural brands will be present brought directly by their manufacturers or by local dealers.
The fair also continues to host a section dedicated to renewable energy, focusing especially on small installations for homes in general and in particular for rural homes. In the same days, in collaboration with the Agrarian University, it will be possible to visit a teaching farm dedicated to biodiversity. Tuscia Viterbese and Maremma Laziale, where the town of Tarquinia is located, are the two geographical areas where agricultural activity is dominant. The area is characterized by hill and plain farming, where the main cultivations are linked to the production of olive oil, wine, cereals, vegetables, with large areas covered by hazel groves, also specialized in flower-growing and by a thriving zootechnical activity. Every year the fair continues to be an important appointment for all the workers in the sector who wish to be updated on all the innovations regarding the agricultural market.
