On the occasion of the "Enovitis in Campo" event, held on 12 and 13 June at the Palazzo di Varignana (Bologna), Antonio Carraro presented the A series, born from a partnership with the Carraro Group company. Entered into force at the beginning of the year, the agreement between two of the main players in the national agromechanical sector provides for the branding and marketing of conventional chassis tractors produced in the Rovigo plants through the Antonio Carraro network of dealers and importers. For the Venetian builders it is a “return to roots”; a return to the early 1900s when, before separating, both builders were united under the same brand of the “Three Horses”. The new line of specialised tractors, designed specifically for cultivation on flat land, seals this important and fruitful collaboration between the two historic builders. Altogether - explains Antonio Carraro with a technical note - the A series consists of three ranges for a total of 20 models. The acronym AS identifies two compact versions with a 75 Hp Deutz engine, which differ in size: AS 7.75 N is the narrow version, with a wheelbase of 1,800 mm and a minimum width of 1 m, while AS 7.75 LB is the wide and low version, with a wheelbase of 1,900 mm, minimum width of 1,360 mm and maximum bonnet height of 1,270 mm. The Deutz TCD 2.2 2.2-litre Stage V 3-cylinder engine can be combined with a 24-speed synchronised mechanical transmission or a 24-+12-speed transmission with power reverse and electro-hydraulic (EI) reverser and PDF EI. The rich hydraulic equipment with 50 and 30 l/min double pump capacity with three rear distributors and the 1,800 kg lift make these two models particularly suitable for work on very narrow rows where high performance, stability and manoeuvrability are required. The AV and AF ranges, more articulated than the AS, are powered by the 4-cylinder FPT F28 2.8 l, Stage V calibrated on three power levels: 75 hp for 2.85 models, 92 hp for 2.95 models, 103 hp for 2.105 models. The AV range is available in narrow vineyard, identified by the acronym N, wide vineyard - marked by the letter L - and wide low vineyard LB. The tractors AV-N and AV-L are equipped with a cab, standard 24-inch and 28-inch front wheels with adjustable rims, and feature a wheelbase of 2,178 mm and a minimum overall width of 1,181 and 1,436 mm respectively. The AV-LB model, on the other hand, was born without a cab, has a slightly shorter wheelbase (2,114 mm) and is lower, with a hood height of 1,353 mm in the 2.85 model and 1,410 mm in the other two. The minimum width is 1,336 mm. The transmission is the same as the AS models but the hydraulic system is more powerful and can be with two or three pumps of 60 and 27 l/min, configured with up to a maximum of 4 mechanical or electrohydraulic distributors and a maximum lifting capacity at the ball joints of 2,600 kilos. The AF range retains the same engine, transmission and hydraulics as the AV but has less compact dimensions. AF-N is the standard orchard version, AF-L and AF B are wide and low orchard respectively. The models AF N and AF L are available with or without cab. The minimum overall width is 1,544 and 1,684 mm respectively, while the wheelbase measures 2,154 mm.

The AF-B model was born without a cab. In this case the wheelbase is 2,105 mm and the height at the bonnet is 1,353 and 1,410 mm respectively, depending on the engine. The overall width of this model starts at 1,532 mm. As specified by the company, it is possible to equip the cab models AV, AV-L, and AF-N with a suspended axle and electrohydraulic distributors controlled by a joystick in the cab. Additionally, all models of the AV and AF Series can be fitted with a front hitch with or without PTO.
