The new RF 4000 series of fixed chamber round balers was created by Vicon technicians for bringing to the market productivity, simplicity and reliability in harvesting. To achieve their aims, designers introduced to the RF 4000 balers a number of latest generation innovations such as the PowerBind net and twine systems, a new DropFloor anti-clogging system and control software for facilitating the selection of bale density. A technical communique issued by the manufacturer said the PowerBind system is making its first appearance on Vicon fixed chamber balers following work on reducing the time needed for binding and ensuring fast and reliable application of net onto the bale by feeding the net directly into the bale chamber by an injection arm which provides accurate and extremely reliable net injection. This system enables the operator to perform the procedure with greater efficiency and safety thanks to the ground level mount of the system of the net loading roller. With the new DropFloor parallelogram system controlled from the tractor cab, the Kverneland Group has been able to create greater space under the front section of the intake rotor to avoid blockage. The technical profile of the new RF 4000 balers is completed with a package of updated software making it possible to select among three pre-configured bale densities with the use of the control box menu. Separate programs offer options for straw, hay and silage, each associated with a specific binding cycle.

The RF 4000 machines are available in four models, each one in the series tailored to meet various crop requirements according to those equipped with rollers alone or rollers and chains combined.
