Haymaking, the high performance of Kuhn machines
The spotlight at Agritechnica is on all the highlights of Kuhn's haymaking range. It starts with the GF13003 hay tedder, a large machine - the twelve rotors work on a front of no less than 13 metres - which, nevertheless, does not give up on compactness. Combinable with medium power tractors, the French manufacturer's model stands out in particular for its reliability. Indeed, the design of the Optitedd rotor, the arms, the heavy duty forks (according to Kuhn, they last twice as long as those of previous models), and the frame (stiffer to reduce vibrations) has been studied to improve the machine's performance even in the most difficult conditions. The GF13003 hay tedder is equipped with a single gearbox and just two hydraulic valves that manage all its functions (opening and folding, tilting and headland turn position), reducing the number of operations the user has to perform. Another winning feature of the GF13003 model is the special operation of the two right-hand outer rotors, which spread the crop on the edges of the field and thus avoid losses due to the dispersion of forage on neighbouring fields.
The FC 13460 RA mower conditioner is also "oversized”, offering the largest cutting width in the KUHN range, with a working width ranging from 12.40 to 13.40 metres. Thanks to its swath former, the machine is able - with one pass - to form a swath from 1.80 to 3 m wide with forage harvested over a cutting width of more than 13 m. The FC 13460 RA is equipped with a telescopic axle, which increases clearance and allows wider and more uniform swaths to be formed, which is beneficial for drying and subsequent forage harvesting. The cutter bar, of the OPTIDISC ELITE type, is robust and easy to use. The bar - says a Kuhn technical note - is maintenance-free and is equipped as standard with the FAST-FIT quick blade attachment system; in addition, it offers a better cutting overlap between the diverging discs and more space between the converging discs. In addition, the conditioner with movable steel fingers guarantees high-quality conditioning, while the innovative kinematics of the frame and cutting units ensure constant ground pressure adjustment via the LIFT-CONTROL suspension for better protection of the vegetation blanket and optimum ground following. The management of the FC 13460 RA is ISOBUS with the possibility of managing the cut with SECTION CONTROL, a very useful aspect for its efficient and easy operation.
In the round baler segment, Kuhn offers the four machines in the VB3200 range. The VB 3260 and VB 3290 models, equipped with a new improved pre-compression and flow, and a fast-opening tailgate, are designed for farmers and contractors working on a large scale. Thanks to a stronger main drive chain, an enlarged rotor chain, as well as additional reinforced bearings and seals, the VB 3260 and VB 3290 round balers offer greater wear resistance. Bale sizes range from 0.80 m to 1.60 m (VB 3260) or 1.85 m (VB 3290) in diameter. The VB 3255 and VB 3285 models are designed for operators who require a robust (the baler is equipped with an automatic chain lubrication system) and multi-purpose machine capable of working with different types of crops (the compression chamber has an additional cleaning roller). The bale dimensions are the same as for the VB 3260 and VB 3290 models.
