Compact and lightweight Satio pneumatic seed drills
Kverneland introduced its new generation Satio series pneumatic seed drills, which replaces the DL series, at this year's EIMA event. The 6m e-com Satio F model was on display in Bologna. Compact and lightweight, the seed drill was designed with a 3-point hitch to be combined with small tractors and is available with a fixed chassis (working width of 3 and 4 meters) or in a hydraulic folding version, with a working width of 5 and 6 meters. The hopper of the fixed models has a capacity of 750 and 1,000 liters and is equipped with the mechanically operated Kverneland central metering device, which makes it possible to distribute 2 to 380 kilograms of seed per hectare. The hopper of the folding models has a capacity of 1,700 liters. The Satio F is available in the e-bas and e-com models, both equipped with an ELDOS electric metering device. The Satio e-bas is not ISOBUS compatible but electronic control is still provided by the Focus 3 terminal, while the Satio e-com model is ISOBUS controlled and can be managed by the Kverneland IsoMatch Tellus GO+, the IsoMatch Tellus PRO or any other ISOBUS terminal. To expand its field of application, Kverneland has completely revised the seeding bar, which is now equipped with CX-II coulters that optimize ground penetration and adjustments, for example the central depth adjustment. For wetter soils, the CX-II is now also available without a press wheel and with a special disc shape, which protects the bearing and reduces weight. The coulters, unlike the previous version, are fixed on the coulter bar to allow the operator to adjust the distance between the rows according to his own farming techniques. Satio pneumatic seed drills come standard with a row spacing pre-set of 12.5 or 25 centimeters.
