March - April 2015 | Back

New John Deere arrivals in the giant baler category are the L1533 and L1534 square balers to replace the 1433 and 1435 with improved performance, longevity and economical operation. Thanks to the smaller number of components the transmission of power to the plungers of the L1533 and L1534 requires less tractor power for the overall benefit of savings of fuel consumption.

The high-capacity feeding system is equipped with rotors aligned with huge converging augers to avoid clogging.

The rotors available for these two machines are the RotoFlow HC and the MaxiCut HC with 12 and 23 pre-cutting knives. For the purpose of reducing load on the knotter system during the production of the bale and achieving great bale density the chamber is equipped with new double-tie knotting.

Two new turbo blowers, originally designed for John Deere combine harvesters, provide air blown through the knotter system to keep it clean throughout day-long operations.

The knotting system has a new design, has been completely sealed and is equipped with boxes for 30 rolls of twine which can be easily directed and tied.

The new giant bale plungers for the L1500s are compatible with many ISOBUS enabled functions providing a wide selection of John Deere displays for the cab.

Most control functions, including bale length and density settings and MaxiCut knife activation, management of the automatic greasing system and monitoring knotting can be run directly from the cab.
