John Deere: the tracked Gators make their debut in Europe
Already available for several years in the United States, the “Gator” models by John Deere will mount Camso rubber tracks in Europe too. Designed to further increase the versatility and mobility of these popular off-road vehicles, the Camso tracks reduce pressure on the ground by 75% at less than 1 psi and can be mounted instead of the wheels in less than two hours, without the need for specific modifications. The tracks are 318 mm wide at the front and 356 mm at the rear, and since they are steering, they are more delicate on the soil when driving off-road. They also ensure better weight distribution, with excellent flotation on any type of terrain. The Camso tracks are produced in Canada by the same company that makes those for the John Deere Series 8R, 9R, and the new 9RX four-track. The 50 Hp Gator XUV 825i reaches 70 km/h and has a totally integral on-demand transmission (activated by a switch on the instrument panel), power steering, and fully independent suspension, adjustable at the rear. With the tracks, the ground clearance increases by 45% reaching approximately 406 mm, while the load and towing capacity remain unchanged at 635 kg and 680 kg respectively. The standard four-post ROPS frame for the Gator can be optimized on demand and converted into a full glass cabin. All models can be ordered with many other accessories and options installed at the factory or at the dealership, such as equipment racks and dividers for the cargo box, front-mounted load carriers, metal bumpers, and lateral extensions for the mud-guards.
