On the eve of Fieragricola John Deere reported the launch of two new fixed chamber balers F440E and F450E built to extend the U.S. manufacturer's 400 series, a wide baler range developed for meeting the requirements of small and medium farms, large farms and contractors. The new robust and compact fixed chamber balers with an excellent price/quality ratio are ideal for handling dry products and were designed for the needs of small farms that turn out less than 1000 bales of hay and straw. The 440E and F450E require low tractor power at only 40-50 HP and are capable of producing high-density bales in diameters of 1.2 for the F440E to 1.5 m for the F450E. For both models, bale density and working speed are comparable with the performance of more powerful balers. Both these models mount a net, double-yarn bond winding system. A significant difference can be found in the baling chambers which are equipped with 1 profiled roller plus bar chain conveyors, for the F440E, and 2 profiled rollers plus bar chain conveyors for the F450E with larger bale dimensions for the F450E, from 1.5 meters compared to 1.2 meters. Moreover, the conveyers in the press chamber of the two balers play an important role by ensuring a firm grip on the hay and stray for baling. Also coming as standard equipment for the F440E and F450E is a high-performance feeder.
