Performance, lifting capacity and ergonomic design are the major plus factors added to the LM telehandlers from New Holland which recently totally redesigned the lines and technical features of the range built to meet the needs of medium and big scale farming and livestock raising operations as well as contractors. The head of the manufactuere's  Tractor, Telehandler and Precision Farming Product Management Division, told Mondo Macchina/Machinery World, “The restyling began with the input received from our customers for whom we wanted to provide even more productive instruments for work by combining power, flexibility in operations and premium operator comfort.” With these goals in mind, New Holland upped the technological content of the three base models, the LM 6.32, LM 7.35 and LM 9.35, in other words, raised the bar for what can be considered as standard equipment for telehandlers in this range, and introduced two versions of the Elite line, the LM 6.35 and LM 7.42 with performance of up to 20% beyond the old standards in lifting capacity. The LM 6.35 Elite can lift 3,500 tons, plus 10%, and the 4.2 tons lifting capacity of the LM 7.42 Elite is a 20% increase. This model also features a power increase of 20% at 143 HP. Also improved is the performance of the hydraulic plant for capacity as wall as recycling time and the Elite models feature output at 140 lt/min compared to 120 lt/min for the base version.

Power and lifting capacity up front

All the LM telehandlers are powered by Gagliardi Nef engines with ECOBlue SCR technology which conform to the Tier 4A standard. New Holland's Nef power plants are generous in power, from 121 HP up to the maximum of 143 HP for the 7.42 Elite, and parsimonious for fuel consumption. Another outstanding feature of the redesigned LM range is the new heavy duty boom built in highly resistant steel for ensuring powerful and precise lifting at a maximum extension height of 9.1 meters for the LM 9.35 models, 6 meters for the 6.32 and the 6.35 Elite and seven for the 7.35 and 7.42 Elite. The load tilt angle is 131° for the base versions and 142° for the Elite to guarantee total unloading of the bucket.

Flexibility and comfort

All New Holland's machines are designed for the purpose of providing the speed and flexibility needed for any type of work and the LM telehandlers are no exception. The Powershift 4x3 transmissions on the standard models provide ideal rations in the operating range for the most demanding work and transport. The Elite versions are more specialized in transport because they are equipped with automatically synchronized steering alignment and a Powershift 6x3 transmission backed by automatic selection of ratios meaning that the speed set is the most advantageous for reducing fuel consumption. Enhancing the flexibility of the LM lineup is the new design for the rear hitch now compatible with a much wider range of implements and for facilitating speedy hitching and unhitching. New Holland's consideration of comfort for the operator is seen in the cab redesigned inside and out for greater silence and ergonomics. On this front is a new point your finger electronic joystick thanks to which all the major functions of these machines and their booms can be controlled intuitively and easily.
