Bologna-based Selvatici has a series of best-selling products including digging machines and aerators, but the chief focus at Agritechnica 2013 is expected to be the new Series 80 post hole driller with a 50 cm vineyard augur.

The articulated device can shift its drilling bit by up to 1.3 meters to right or left with controlled shaft inclination and a reversible engine. These hydraulically controlled features make it especially useful for drilling on existing vineyards.

The company, which has now been on the market for over forty years, has an especially impressive record in handling the problems raised by a vast range of requirements.

This is reflected in the drill. There are over a thousand different drilling points ranging from 10-100 cm in diameter for depths from 50 cm to two meters. The points also vary in structure according to what they have to do: stone points, double spirals for sand, tubular for posts, conical for vases, pick-shaped for stones, and like plough-shares for vineyard use.

Another plus for Selvatici drills is their four ranges of reduction gears, kept up to date to ensure increasingly effective and productive tools.
