New Selvatici aerators: light and fast

Selvatici launches its new series of Aeroking 150.45 aerators for ground-breaking lawns and gardens. The strong point of this model is its maximum working speed which reaches almost 4 km/h (practically double that of traditional machines), with a working depth of 15 cm. In brifd, the latest addition to the Selvatici family, with its 165 cm width and 520 kg weight, can achieve an hourly productivity of 6,400 m2/hour. The innovations introduced by the Bologna-based manufacturer (headquartered in San Lazzaro di Savena) include an innovative crankshaft, which ensures a balance of forces by means of a system of counterweights capable of mitigating the effect of the increased rotation speed (+60%) on the entire kinematic mechanism and eliminates vibrations (harmful for bearings, pins and joints). Also new is the spring inserted near the 3rd attachment point, which further reduces vibrations affecting the operator. Selvatici points out that the balancing design was achieved through a study of the position of the crank's center of gravity, which also compensates for part of the mass of the connecting rod. Another distinguishing feature of the series is the choice to maintain a central reducer and a transmission by means of splined shafts which renders the use of bulky and heavy lateral transmissions (belt or chain) unnecessary. This construction solution means that the aerators are lighter in the same width class and thus can also be used on low-powered tractors with limited lifting capacity. The new series also includes smaller and lighter models, such as the 115 cm wide and 400 kg weight model suitable for tractors from 15 to 45 Hp. The front rollover plows are operated via the tractor's PTO, meaning that they are carried and not towed. Selvatici has focused on the design detail that allows the "internal chamber" to remain much freer, with less possibility of clogging and with a central shaft that can rotate more quickly. At EIMA International, the Bologna-based manufacturer is presenting a completely revised range consisting of models with widths between 90 and 400 cm, suitable for tractors with power ranging from 25 to 300 Hp. All machines can be equipped with a finishing roller. In this way, primary tillage (digging) and secondary tillage (soil preparation) can be done in one step.

The finishing roller is applied behind the central shaft and consists of a guiding tube with hardened spring tines welded onto it. The maximum working speed exceeds 5 km/h, while the maximum depth that can be reached exceeds the threshold of 50 cm.
