The high comfort of Emak's new brush cutters

March-April 2025 | Back

Introducing a new series of professional brush cutters designed to tackle the most demanding working conditions, such as undergrowth and roadside maintenance. Emak hits the market with its BC brush cutters under the Oleo-Mac brand name and DS brush cutters sold under the Efco brand name. The BC540 and DS5400 lines are available in various models with circular, handlebar and shoulder grip versions, and are particularly distinct for their lightweight construction. In fact, the technicians at the Reggio Emilia-based Emak Group located in Bagnolo in Piano have attempted to reduce the weight of the equipment to a minimum by using magnesium components for the engine crankcase, along with latest-generation high-resistance, low-density plastic materials and a hollow transmission shaft.

All models come with the new 51.7 cm3 Euro 5 two-stroke Emak engine, equipped with EasyStart starting system and AlwaysOn technology. This technology allows the start button to automatically return to the on position after each power-off to prevent engine flooding. Furthermore, the brush cutters are equipped with Primer and Choke controls, which make it easier to start the device, and with a paper and sponge double filtering system, which allows for longer working hours and filtering capacity. Other standard features include the three-tooth disc specifically designed for clearing woodland and the anti-vibration system that reduces the shocks felt by the operator during work to a minimum. The new series of brush cutters also includes two backpack versions, the Oleo-Mac BCF 540 and the Efco DSF 5400, with a metal backpack equipped with a pocket for storing objects reinforced with a robust steel structure designed for demanding operations. A central bracket further adds to the backpack's protection. The Efco and Oleo-Mac models also have a special four-rubber mount technology that isolates the engine and reduces vibrations transmitted to the operator's body.
