Sirio, powerful and agile in manoeuvring
This forklift truck is called Sirio, and it was made by Babini Giorgio srl, a company based in Longastrino (Ferrara) operating in the farming equipment sector for over 50 years. The official debut at EIMA International of the 1.5-tonne version (model 15.4) is much anticipated. From the constructive point of view, the Sirio models 20.4 and 27.4 boast several “trump cards”. The Kohler TIER 4 FINAL/STAGE 3B engines with C-EGR technology, i.e. partial exhaust gas recirculation, offered in the 4-cylinder and 75-Hp version on the Sirio 27.4 (with a capacity of 2.7 tonnes) and in the 3-cylinder and 57-Hp version on the Sirio 20.4 (with a capacity of 20 tonnes). “We chose the Kohler engine - the owner of the company, Giorgio Babini, explains to Mondo Macchina - because it enhances the machine’s productivity, with high level performance and the costs of use and maintenance reduced to a minimum”. The other great plus of Sirio is the Poclain transmission system, which, thanks to the option of activating flow dividers, gives the vehicle great manoeuvring agility, even on the most difficult terrain. The overall dimensions of the machine and the advanced transmission system enable reaching a steering angle of only 57°, ideal for working among orchard rows. All Sirio models are approved for road circulation. The model launched at EIMA International, the 15.4, is small in height and in width, so as to allow its use also in newly designed orchards/vineyards with planting layouts reduced to a minimum and passage through the entrances of cellars and warehouses with a height of just over 2 metres. The low centre of gravity makes Sirio suitable for use on steep hills and mountains in complete safety with maximum performance.
