Electric model for Babini Giorgio
Babini Giorgio a manufacturer specialized in the production of rear-mounted hydraulic lifts and self-propelled off-road forklifts since 1979, introduced its new e-SIRIO15.4 model at EIMA. It is the first fully electric off-road forklift designed and built in Italy. The Sirio series was designed by the technicians of the company from Longastrino, in the province of Ferrara, to move bins, pallets and various materials on uneven surfaces. A hydrostatic transmission and wheel motors give the range a very tight turning radius which makes it a very agile vehicle even in the most difficult settings. With the introduction of the e-SIRIO15.4, the manufacturer wants to offer an efficient vehicle that combines economy and ease of management, and at the same time reduces environmental impact. The new model is equipped with latest-generation modular batteries that power synchronous motors that allow – the Longastrino company states – up to 8 hours of operational autonomy, with a lifespan of more than ten years. This can be extended by adding individual parts. In fact, one of the most innovative features is the modularity of the batteries with a basic capacity of 20 kW that can reach up to 40 kW; this flexibility allows the vehicle's autonomy to be adapted to the operator's different needs and is thus suitable for both light and more demanding jobs. Charging is practical and fast and can be done via wall-box and industrial socket, in a brief amount of time: approximately 2.5 hours from 20 to 100%. A large display allows the operator to monitor key data such as battery charge or truck performance in real time, while a remote control system manages maintenance and remote diagnostics helps prevent breakdowns, optimizes operating efficiency and reduces downtime.
