Dondi of Bastia Umbra (province of Perugia) launches on the market a new model of brushcutter-tipping machine that completes the functionality of its tool carriers for vineyards and orchards. Thanks to this important innovation, Dondi's equipment is now able to perform, in addition to the usual tillage of the soil in the under-canopy, also suckering and mowing of the grass. Suitable for espalier systems and covered by five patents, the Dondi brushcutter is a particularly versatile machine, which offers multiple adjustment possibilities such as rotation speed, wire type, working angle, bonnet opening, as well as rotor size. This allows the user to configure the vehicle optimally, depending on the form of training, the age of the vines and the state of the grass and suckers. The rotor, of the short wire type, stands out for its excellent performance in terms of wire consumption and energy requirements. 7 to 15 l/min are sufficient to feed the single or double rotor in suckering and - explains the manufacturer with a technical note - from 30 to 40 l/min for mowing the grass. Compared to models with long wire, this solution requires greatly reduced quantities of wire and, consequently, releases smaller quantities of plastics into the ground, positively impacting the environmental sustainability of the vehicle and machine downtime due to retooling. The brushcutter-tipping machine is interchangeable with tillage tools and the hydraulic system itself is optimised to better manage both functions.

Thanks to this technological solution, the user can manage the entire vineyard using a single machine, reliable, easy to use and with low management costs. The new Dondi brushcutter has seen its marketing begin after passing a rigorous cycle of field tests with flying colours.
