VX Tractor tyres: traction and durability
Productivity and efficiency with minimal ground pressure, as well as improved grip, traction and water resistance. Since 2014, which is when Bridgestone entered the agro-mechanical sector, these are the most popular features of the tyres created by the Japanese multinational (the headquarters are in the Chuo area, in Tokyo). There are also the flagships of the latest addition, the VX-TRACTOR model designed at the European Bridgestone R&D Centre in Rome and produced in Spain. VX-TRACTOR has a particularly rugged structure and a wide tread footprint (the bars are long and deep) that offer good traction and durability over time. Another big plus of the new Bridgestone tyre is the VF technology, which not only reduces soil compaction, thus fostering better plant growth, but significantly improves production efficiency for the same load. All this with a fuel consumption which, according to the manufacturer’s claims, is around 36 litres per 50 hectares. The VX-TRACTOR model made its official debut at Agritechnica and is already available on the market from November 1 in 39 sizes; by May 2020, the range should expand further to reach 47 sizes. In the exhibition spaces of the Japanese company, the spotlights were also on the rubber tracks for large tractors. The innovations also concern the Firestone brand (controlled by Bridgestone) with the Performer Extra model, which stands out for its innovative tread compound, designed to extend the life cycle of the tyre over time.
