This year's EIMA saw the debut of VariBale, the new generation of variable chamber round balers, designed by Vicon to improve machine efficiency, reliability and maintenance. The VariBale baler is available in two models, the 160 and 190, which produce bales with a diameter of 1.65 and 1.85 meters, respectively. Noteworthy among the main innovations introduced by Vicon is the hydraulic density system which – states the Kverneland Group company – provides a 10% increase in bale density, while the larger rotor combined with a new DropFloor and a wider 2.3 meter pick-up improve the machine's processing capacity. The rotor feeder equipped on the Power Feed and ChopFeed versions is 520 mm and features a parallelogram DroopFloor that optimizes crop flow. The four endless belts are combined with an intelligent hydraulic density system specifically designed to form high quality, heavy bales for all crop types. Another plus of the Varibales is the proven PowerBind net technology, the roll loading device, taken from the previous generation of round balers. Direct injection allows for the net to be applied quickly and consistently – states the manufacturer – shortening the binding cycles and maintaining the shape of the bales during transport and storage. The vertical storage system for spare rolls reduces waste accumulation and the intelligent folding device makes it easier to handle heavier rolls. Other strong points of Vicon round balers worth mentioning include the lower maintenance time achieved by optimized access points, reduced residue accumulation and optional features such as the quick-lubrication system.
