The strength of Gardini gearboxes
At EIMA International, the Bologna-based company Gardini Technik is presenting the WG500 gearbox for forestry mulchers, stone crushers and asphalt breakers. It is therefore a component subject to particularly heavy stresses that will equip machines with input power of up to 500 horsepower, following the trend in the agricultural sector to use increasingly powerful vehicles. From a construction point of view, the new gearbox made by the Bologna-based manufacturer is safe for the entire transmission thanks to the use of a new system that includes a free wheel splined to the PTO input gear.
The housing is completed by a cooling and oil recirculation system equipped with a gear pump. In addition, the WG500 model, with a view to its use in the context of Industry 4.0, also includes the possibility of integrating level and temperature sensors and rpm detectors, which, suitably interfaced to the various circuits, improve the performance and management of the entire equipment.
Finally, the output and input shafts have been upgraded, adopting the 2"1/4 z 22 version, guaranteeing higher power transmissions compared to other types of keying. Another innovation from Gardini Technik is the RE202 box for machines specialised in wood or asphalt processing and with input powers of up to 180 Hp.
The RE202 model - explains the company in a note - is characterised by an "L" design integrated by a kit that allows the transmission of motion on both sides of the mulcher, and by the presence of a two-position gearbox with lever control designed to respond to the two different speeds required for working on wood and asphalt.
