The new versatile and compact CLAAS specialisations

On the CLAAS stand visitors to Agritechnica 2023 discovered the ELIOS 200, ELIOS 300 and AXOS 200 compact tractor series. The new specialists of the German company offer different technical characteristics in terms of performance, power transmission, comfort and payload. The ELIOS 200 series includes four versions with power ranging from 75 to 130 Hp. The basic model ELIOS 210 is available with or without a cab, respectively with a height of 189 and 240 centimeters, while the ELIOS 220, 230 and 240 are available directly with a cab. The range is equipped with a four-speed transmission that can be mechanical or with TWINSHIFT powershift and REVERSHIFT inversion. The rear lift has a load capacity of 3.2 tonnes, with the rear axle mounted on 30-inch wheels. These technical features make the ELIOS 200 a suitable medium for use in the enclosed spaces of a farm but also for small routine jobs, such as moving material or towing light equipment. Unlike the ELIOS 200, the 300 series starts from a minimum power of 85 hp and includes three models. What differentiates the two ranges is the transmission, which in the 300 is five-speed with TWINSHIFT powershift and REVERSHIFT hydraulic inversion as standard. Thanks to its small size (3,600 kg weight, total width of 165 centimeters and height of 2.60 meters) this tractor is ideal for use in the tightest spaces or on uneven and sloping terrain. Optionally CLAAS can supply Trelleborg turf tyres to protect the soil and reduce the footprint on the ground. The AXOS 200 range is more versatile and consists of two models, with powers starting from 92 to 103 horsepower. From the ELIOS series, the AXOS 200 differs in higher lift capacity and higher payload, but also in rear wheels up to 34 inches. These are distinctive elements that, together with the height of 2.62 meters and the turning radius of 3.79 meters, give this model the characteristics of a compact multifunction machine, designed by CLAAS technicians to be used both on the most demanding soils and for sowing or forestry. All new CLAAS tractors are equipped with turbocharged four-cylinder FPT engines with common-rail injection and Stage V standards. The AXOS 200, ELIOS 300 and ELIOS 240, 230 and 220 are powered by a 3.6-liter engine with injection pressure of 1,800 bar, wastegate turbocharger, intercooler and viscous fan. The ELIOS 210, on the other hand, is powered by a 3.4-liter engine with injection pressure of 1,600 bar, intercooler and viscous fan.
