The Lotti CT 80 thinner cuts production costs
CaBa Industrie is presenting its new fruit thinner to visitors at the EIMA International event. This Lotti brand model has been joined with the CT 80 trimmer frame, which is also compatible with other types of tools for leaf canopy care.
The new thinner comes in two versions – 2.5 and 3 meter – and operates via 12-millimeter diameter nylon rods screwed onto the drive shaft.
This solution makes it possible to replace them quickly and easily in the event of breakage. The technicians from Ravenna – the company's operational headquarters are in Faenza – have designed the CT 80 to be specifically used on stone fruit, such as peaches, plums and apricots, before the lignification of the stone itself, to ensure optimal size and shape when the fruit is harvested.
Applied to the front of the tractor, the latest addition to the CaBa range is capable of both upper and lower swinging, and can tilt to aid plant care and at the same time facilitate entry to and exit from the rows. According to the manufacturer, the new thinner can lower the production costs of peaches, plums and apricots from 60% to 80%, rendering these crops more profitable.
