The drive towards innovation: CM celebrates 50 years
The last half century has seen the company engaged in the design and production of agricultural handling equipment. In 1974, two partners, Domenico Calonaci and Gabriele Calini, decided to found CM. The company from Romagna, headquartered in Lugo (Ravenna), is now a well-established company that produces over 1,500 models a year: from hydraulic lifts for agricultural tractors to forklift equipment and bin tippers.
All the machinery developed by the Ravenna-based company is conceived, designed and manufactured “in house”, from the preliminary designs to the selection of materials, from processing to assembly, and even the final testing.
The care with which each phase of the production process is followed has allowed CM to export its product ranges to as many as 40 countries, even if – the manufacturer states – the reference market continues to be that of Italy, which accounts for approximately 60% of its turnover. And, to celebrate the special occasion of its 50th anniversary, CM is presenting a new company logo at EIMA that will soon adorn all the models produced in the company's factory in Lugo.
"Looking to the future is part of our mission. Throughout 50 years of business activity – states Antonella Babini, owner of CM together with Martina Calini – we have always been distinguished by our propensity to constantly innovate our ranges and our production processes. We intend to continue doing so in the years to come, as is made very clear by our upcoming project to build a new highly technological and sustainable production facility".
