Agricultural machinery comes to the island of Ortigia in Siracusa to bring to life an original and evocative exhibition. Tractors, combine harvesters, construction machines, equipment and digital technologies will be the centerpieces at the G7 of agriculture and at the DiviNazione EXPO on the Sicilian island from 21 to 29 September. Among the ancient churches, historic buildings and archaeological sites found in Ortigia, FederUnacoma – the federation that represents agricultural machinery manufacturers within Confindustria – will reconstruct natural landscapes to be the setting for imposing machines, equipment and new generation systems. The area in front of the Harbor Master's Office, the square of the Temple of Apollo and Via Minerva are the three places where approximately 80 models of vehicles and technologies will be on display, and which will thus become one of the main attractions of the Sicilian event, presented last 9 september in Rome by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests Francesco Lollobrigida. Mechanization, after all, is the technological soul of agriculture, the tool that in every corner of the world and in every production context makes it possible to increase agricultural yields while also protecting the environment. “The Italian industry in the sector invests huge resources to create highly innovative products - says Mariateresa Maschio, president of FederUnacoma - precisely to satisfy the demand for food of a constantly growing world population, and at the same time to scientifically manage natural resources, preserving the organic substance of the soil, protecting biodiversity and contributing to the management of rural territories”. “In other words - concludes the president of FederUnacoma - agricultural mechanization makes those objectives that are at the center of the G7 agenda practicable, taking on the role of the 'operational arm' of every policy for agriculture and the environment”.
