Teknoax 2.0: smart trailers project
The flagship of the ADR stand in Bologna (the headquarters are in Uboldo, Varese) is the Teknoax 2.0 technology. The manufacturer explains in a note that “The goal of the project is to provide a complete range of “smart” parts for the axles of agricultural trailers. Parts that, thanks to the connection with a collaborative platform, are traceable and provide conditions and procedures for easy maintenance». In fact, the new axles signed by ADR will be characterized not only by even more advanced mechanical properties but also for a remote communication system, connected to a platform that will record its performance by monitoring the maintenance on each unit. Furthermore, the manufacturing process will be optimized to facilitate mass production of the new axles, which are expected to be launched shortly. “Today, maintenance activities are much more expensive than they should because - continues ADR - axles are components with extremely limited possibilities for interaction and communication. This means that their activity and working conditions cannot be assessed in real time “. When Teknoax 2.0 is completed, it will be possible to provide a remote tire inflation and deflation system, with which it will be possible to quickly adjust the internal pressure according to the specific operating conditions. And with Teknoax 2.0 in addition to a weight monitoring system through a cell allowing the driver to know the total payload of the trailer, a tracking device on RFID tag that associates each axis with a unique identification number will also be operational for facilitating and reducing maintenance. Maintenance that will be planned on the real operating conditions of the machine thanks to the possibility of interfacing the data related to the total operating time, distance traveled, and weight monitoring. Data that will be detected by a sensor system on the trailer box and will then be sent to the collaborative platform. In short, the Tekcnoax 2.0 project really promises to innovate the management of trailers because it will improve its mechanical performance, reduce its empty weight by monitoring the load, reducing operating and maintenance costs, and carefully planning machine downtimes. Therefore, trailers will become interconnected applications constantly monitored. For the benefit of maneuverability and integration with the tractor.
