T&Trac, presented to the general public of EIMA International, is an end-to-end electronic system, compatible with all agricultural machines equipped with Isobus or enabled for CAN BUS (it can be interfaced with the information systems of regional agencies for agricultural payments), conceived by the Veronese company Caffini (the headquarters are in Palù) for monitoring the work in the field. The data collected by telemetry are “stored” in a multifunctional database on in the cloud where they are made available to both manufacturers and users. This is information on the actual operating parameters that allow OEMs to define an optimal maintenance plan for each machine model and therefore reduce downtime, and to agricultural entrepreneurs to plan, streamline and make even more efficient the work in the field. Managed through a smartphone, T&Trac was developed thanks to funding from the Veneto Region (POR FESR 2014-2020) and can be considered one of the first examples of concrete application of the IoT to Agriculture 4.0. Among the other innovations from Caffini for the Bologna show, we should mention the Rider self-propelled sprayer, equipped with the innovative 2,500 and 3,000 litre tanks with an ultra-low centre of gravity, with bars from 18 to 28 metres (also with air sleeve), with independent air suspension on each wheel. The Rider is prized for the possibility of widening the carriage (the controls are in the cabin) from 150 to 300 cm (the ground clearance varies from 110 to 170 cm), for a wide view of the work area, for the Bosch Rexroth hydrostatic system and the 140-horsepower Stage IV 4-cylinder engine with three forward speeds. The profile of the self-propelled tractor is completed by its four-wheel drive (steering wheels) with three steering options: front only, front and rear opposed, front and rear parallel. Finally, the exhibition spaces of the Verona-based company were bound to host one of the flagships of the range: the Grasskiller cold water weeder, of which Mondo Macchina has spoken extensively in the special issue dedicated to EIMA International.
