RIVE 2023, a successful edition
The viticulture and oenology sector is the protagonist of RIVE, the biennial trade fair event organized by Pordenone Fiere. Technological solutions and services for the sector in the name of innovation, dynamic tests and a rich program of seminars and workshops, organized by a dedicated scientific committee, characterized the event
The fourth edition of Rive, the international viticulture and oenology exhibition which was held at the Pordenone Fair from 8 to 10 November, recorded growing numbers.
300 brands were present, exhibiting in an area of 25 thousand m2 divided into 8 halls, and over 10 thousand visitors, of which 7% were from abroad. At the centre of the exhibition are viticulture nurseries, viticulture machinery, products and technologies for the treatment of vines, as well as winemaking and marketing of wine with systems, materials, packaging and services. As regards the profile of visitors, they were mainly winegrowers, representatives of cooperative wineries and production consortia, oenologists, winemakers and distributors. An audience of specialists who, thanks to Rive, had the opportunity to keep up to date on all the latest news in the sector. The second edition of Dynamic Rive, the fair's demonstration area organised in cooperation with the publishing house L'Informatore Agrario, was held within the event, which included a programme of field trials of machines for crop protection and inter-row management. In two daily appointments lasting one hour, in a specially set up vineyard, it was possible to see recovery and variable rate atomisers at work, with the use of hydrosensitive papers to highlight the advantages of using these technologies in terms of efficiency and environmental sustainability. And also inter-row tillage equipment for row management with the availability of sensors that allow optimal work without damage to the strain. All accompanied by informative contributions from the Veronese publishing house and technical commentary from the staff of the companies involved in the tests. There were over 50 technical-scientific meetings organized in the Enotrend space - with claim "From roots to wine" and created in collaboration with Fon- dazione Friuli - all having as a common denominator the theme of the opportunities and constraints of technological evolution in agriculture. Theme developed, in particular, on the second day of the event, in two morning and afternoon sessions dedicated to "Drought in the vineyard. Current responses and possible solutions" and "50% reduction in pesticides by 2030. A possible goal?”. FederUnacoma, together with Federacma, the event's organizational partner, was present with its own institutional stand, officials from the Technical Service and the magazine Mondo Macchina. For Renato Pujatti, president of the Pordenone Fair, "with this edition we can say that Rive has made a leap in quality and has definitely established itself as an event with an international profile that fully enters the major European circuits of wine trade fairs".
