Rima drawbar: a "shockproof" device
Specialized in designing and manufacturing components for agricultural and industrial machinery, the business Rima from Montichiari (Brescia) is going to display at Eima International an innovative drawbar for tractors suitable for sprayers and hauling of heavy equipment. “Usually, drawbars for the machinery dedicated to vineyard cultivation – explains in a technical note the business from Brescia – allow to haul equipment in two positions; the first one is the position demanded by the steering on the road, in compliance with the highway code; the second one refers to the work stage, for which reducing the turning radius is often essential”. In this last case it might happen that, on particularly uneven ground (i.e. hills), some parts of the drawbar itself or of the coupling bolt are being damaged by mechanical stresses. “The goal of our new device – pinpoints the note by Rima – is to avoid such problems, or at least to minimize their occurence”. Rima has provided the drawbar's lateral couplings with an elastic part in order to absorb the stresses to which the component is exposed. In this way, is not only reinforced the resistance to vibrations produced by the most uneven ground, but also to potential shocks. In the end, the drawbar designed by the technicians from the Lombard business guarantees to work more efficiently, to reduce the machine's downtime and, as a consequence, its maintenance costs.
