Q Series by Valtra, customized technology

Big news from Valtra. The Finnish manufacturer presents at EIMA International the new Q Series designed and manufactured at its Suolahti plant in the central southern great lakes region. Designed for use by contractors or large farms, the Q Series is equipped with a 7.4-litre AGCO Power engine that delivers between 230 and 305 Hp. Maximum engine power is available at very low engine speeds of 1,850 rpm, while maximum torque remains constant in the range between 1,000 and 1,500 rpm. The engine is equipped as standard with the EcoPower function, which reduces fuel consumption, according to a company note.The AGCO CVT 'intelligent' transmission is easy to use, and the electronic management automatically selects the engine speed according to the particular type of operation to be carried out, optimising the distribution of the hydraulics, PTO or transmission. In this way, the operator simply adjusts the settings to suit his needs. The Q Series is a compact tractor, with a low overall height - 3 metres 33 centimetres - and a long wheelbase of 3.50 metres. As a result, the centre of gravity is low and makes the machine particularly stable. Also contributing to the stability of the Q series are the air suspensions, which have a faster reaction time than hydraulic suspensions and thus increase the machine's grip on the ground. In addition, thanks to the combination of the Aires suspension with the long wheelbase, the tractor gains in power and sees a reduction in power jumps. Among the pluses of the new Series, technology certainly takes front row. All the Smart Farming features of the Q Series are intelligently and easily controlled by the SmartTouch user interface. Work activity files can be stored, starting field activities in just a few steps, while the SmartTurn system, which automatically turns the tractor at the headland, enhances the user-friendliness of the Q Series. In this way - says the Finnish company, the operating experience in the field becomes fully automated, freeing the driver's attention to concentrate on the implement and the task at hand. In keeping with Valtra's tradition, the Q Series offers a wide range of customisation options with the Valtra Unlimited package that provides a wide range of solutions to meet farmers' diverse needs.
