Powerful and technological Merlo telescopic handlers
Merlo spa, a company based in San Fedente (TO) specializing in the production of telescopic boom lifts, both fixed and rotating, self-loading cement mixers, forest tractors, tracked vehicles and self-propelled platforms, participates in Agritechnica 2019 with a stand full of new products. On the front line we find the Turbofarmer 65.9CS, which is part of a series of vehicles characterized by multi-purpose use for agricultural, construction and industrial activities and great adaptability to all working conditions. The new model, designed to meet the demand for manageable vehicles with high lifting capacity, features innovative technical solutions to promote performance, reliability and reduced maintenance time, while ensuring the highest levels of safety. The latter is guaranteed by a levelling system, which allows correcting lateral inclinations up to 11° in order to lift the load vertically, by a standard ASCS load management system, and by FOPS - Level II - and ROPS certified cabs. Some other features of the 65.9CS are: a new 170 Hp engine; a hydraulic system - Load Sensing and Flow Sharing - capable of delivering over 160 l/min; a new generation continuously variable transmission, the MCVTronic; a high visibility cab with a damping system that reduces vibrations and noise; and also an electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission - Eco Power Drive, EPD - which allows the reduction of engine RPM with reduced power, the activation of the Speed Control, and the automatic adjustment of the RPM for maximum consumption reduction. Then there are the new Multifarmer MF34.7 and MF 34.9 telescopic handlers equipped with an arm capable of handling 3.4 tonnes, working at heights of 7 and 9 m, compact in size, that combine the performance of a telehandler with that of an agricultural tractor, for maximum versatility of use. The distinctive elements of the two vehicles are the wide-visibility suspended cab with high standards of comfort, ergonomics and safety. The rear power take-off with electronic management, combined with the CAT2 three-point hitch, with a lifting capacity of 3,000 kg, enables the operation of multiple devices. They are equipped with the anti-tipping system M CDC (Dynamic Load Control) and 136 HP engines managed by the EPD system that reduces diesel consumption. Another Merlo innovation is the Panoramic 27.6 Stage V motorized unit, an updated version (according to EU regulations for the control of gas emissions) of the reference model in the ultra-compact segment, which despite its small size guarantees top-of-the-range comfort thanks to the installation of the modular cabin. The Turin company also premieres in Hanover the new “Capacitive Joystick” designed specifically for the agricultural world, which integrates the controls of the operating functions of the machine with those for the management of the transmission, for better ergonomics of the controls, ensuring a reduction of fatigue and greater daily productivity. Lastly, at the exhibition Merlo will also show several models of the Cingo series, multi-tool tracked transporters that offer maximum transverse stability in slope conditions thanks to the low centre of gravity. In synergy with the track transmission system, it allows better grip on deformable or irregular soils and at the same time a reduction in ground pressure. The Cingo series, which provides a capacity of 400 to 1,200 kg, also comes with a patented device for the rapid attachment of the equipment.
