The 75-horsepower P 135.80 specialized tractor, presented at EIMA International by the Piemontese Pierre Trattori (based in Silvano d’Orba, in the Alessandria area), is a very innovative machine. Among the most significant design solutions, we note the displacement of the radiating masses and cooling fan from the front of the engine to the rear, in an almost horizontal position. “Thanks to this particular constructive solution - explains the owner of the company, Giovanni Battista Polentes - we managed to reduce the front overhang to 220 mm, compared to 320 which, for the same engine, distinguish the specialized tractors of our competitors”. From an operational point of view, this solution involves a significant reduction in the turning radius of the P 135.80, benefitting maneuverability in the narrowest spaces, which the Pierre tractor was designed for. “In vineyards - continues Polentes - our machine can turn in a single manoeuvre, without the two or three needed for other models. For the operator this means less stress, more safety and reduced working time”. Another innovation introduced by the Piedmontese company on its 75 horsepower machine is the application of a cooling fan driven by a hydraulic motor with electronic adjustment of rotational speed and direction. In this way the user can manage the cooling power according to the engine temperature and can reverse the air flow to automatically clean the radiant masses. This avoids the complex manual interventions required (even every 2/3 hours of work) for tractors without such a system. We should also mention, among the other advantages of the P 135.80, the independent double steering and the new position of the air intake device, now farther from the ground and vegetation.
