New Emak shredder for heavy duty processing
Emak offers the market a new family of shredders with cutting widths of one metre, available in both wheeled and tracked versions. The machine was designed by Emilian technicians - the operating base is in Bagnolo in Piano (province of Reggio Emilia) - to be used by professionals, both in the agricultural field and for landscaping, and in particular by those who have to operate in demanding working conditions such as uncultivated land, sloping terrain or for the maintenance of roadside verges. Among the various types of engines available, the Honda GX 390 ALPIN high-tilt engine model allows you to work in gradient situations. The vegetation is mowed by a cutting unit consisting of 58 Y-shaped flails with a height ranging from 20 to 80 mm. In addition, the rotor is supported by reinforced and shielded bearings that protect the device from accidental shocks. One of the machine's pluses is the reinforced gearbox with 4-speed mechanical transmission (3+1R), which consists of gears in an oil bath, and is activated via a lever that can be reached from the handlebar. Its adjustment, 4 height positions and 5 lateral positions, is done through another ergonomic lever (located on the side of the right handlebar) in order to adapt the guide to the specific needs of the operator. Other interesting technical solutions are the independent steering clutches on the drive wheels with wheel locking, which allow the machine to be manoeuvred with extreme ease, and the pivoting front wheels that can be locked from the handlebar through a control lever, which maintain the cutting line even on steep terrain. Last but not least, in addition to the wheel drive, Emak offers the track drive model. These allow an even distribution of the machine's weight on the ground, reducing the risk of damaging sensitive surfaces, such as farmland. With this type of traction it is possible to overcome challenging obstacles such as rough or wet and slippery ground conditions.
