Manitou renews its MLT NewAG telehandler range
At the 46th annual EIMA event Manitou introduced its completely updated MLT NewAG telescopic handler range. The new line of machines includes 14 models, offered with lifting heights ranging from 6 to 9 meters and with a minimum capacity of 2.5 tons. The main innovation introduced by the French company on the new machines was a redesign of the arm, which is now equipped with a new, wider head making it possible to integrate the automatic centralized lubrication of the frame and the arm. The lifts come with a wider armrest and 7” Vision display standard (except for the MLT 733/937 models). Additionally, retrofit cameras are available as an option for greater visibility when maneuvering. In terms of safety, the French technicians have inserted a new removable filter into the cabin that is easy to clean and increases the protection of operators who have to work in particularly dusty environments. Furthermore, a new weighing system, the Smart Counting System, allows you to record the number of buckets filled or unloaded in both manual and automatic mode, a feature that is particularly useful for measuring the filling of a truck or a concrete mixer. The lighting system has also been revamped, and the new models come with LED work lights that provide better visibility of the work space while consuming less energy (LED high beams are available as an option). The view of the lift arm has also been improved with the removal of the cable reel, allowing 95% of the cables to be routed inside the arm. Rounding out the new features of the MLT NewAG range is the STOP&Start system which replaces the Ecostop function. STOP&Start technology – explains the manufacturer from Ancenis (Nantes) – automatically switches off the telehandler's engine when it is idling, or there is no hydraulic activity or movement, helping to reduce daily fuel consumption.
