Hermes, technologies for mechanical harvesting and weeding
At this year's EIMA International event the South Tyrolean company Hermes (headquartered in Gargazzone, near Bolzano) is presenting its new Fruit Piker belt harvesting wagon designed to work with any type of fruit in bins. Versatile, and also available with self-leveling technology, Fruit Piker stands out for its innovative belt management and usage system, which allows it to adapt to any type of orchard and greatly improves operation and ease of use while preventing damage to the fruit. The Bolzano-based company is launching a new non-invasive adjustment system in the mechanical weeding segmenton in low orchards with a shoot remover capable of working under the foliage and a new adjustment system for the inter-row wheel for shredders or mowers, with height adjustment, also designed for under-the-foliage interventions. Another new feature is the Fisarmonica mower with a mulching mowing system that now offers the ability to be combined with technologies for localized weeding. It is a robust piece of equipment that does not require excessive power – which is why it is suitable for tractors with different power ranges – and is able to offer top-level performance even in difficult situations and in tall grass. Again with a view to under-row cleaning, Hermes is presenting its new “universal tool holder” for mowing operations in vineyards and orchards, both narrow and wide. The machine is equipped with an autonomous hydraulic unit and can be controlled directly from the cab using a joystick.
