ELCA wins the 2025 iF DESIGN AWARD
The VEDO Waist portable Radiocontrol unit made by ELCA of Mussolente (Vicenza) has won the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 following its selection by a jury of 131 design professionals. First awarded in 1954, the competition recognizes the best solutions for products, packaging, services and architecture. The award is also given to professional concepts, as well as – in the digital field – to the most innovative user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) systems. The VEDO Waist portable Radiocontrol unit won the “product” category in the “telecommunications” sector and was one of the strongest submissions included among the approximately 11,000 entries from 66 different countries. “Industrial radio control users require safe, easy-to-use products with dedicated layouts (description, number and type of controls) that are comfortable and ergonomic. VEDO – as can be read on the 2025 iF DESIGN AWARD website – meets these requirements”. Its central emergency STOP is clearly visible, a two-level control surface places controls always within reach, and 360° perimeter protection offers a comfortable support for the hands. The jury was also persuaded by the original coupling solution used by the Veneto-based manufacturer, which allows for improved stability of the radio control unit, complete with visual feedback technology, LED and display, command symbols, as well as the color of the casing and its compact size.
