EIMA International, a dream edition
Visitors vastly exceed the threshold of 300 thousand, consecrating the exhibition as one of the most significant events in the trade show landscape. "Agricultural machinery is entering the collective imagination - comments the president of FederUnacoma Alessandro Malavolti - as a symbol of progress and civilization"
The 43rd edition of EIMA International, the review of agricultural machinery organized by FederUnacoma at the Bologna exhibition centre, ended on November 11 with extraordinary numbers. Visitors reached the figure of 317 thousand, an increase of 11% compared to the result of the last edition (2016), which had already set a historical record for this event, which takes a leading role not only in the agricultural machinery sector, but in the general exhibition worldwide scene as a whole.
The number of foreign operators also increased - over 50 thousand with an increase of 15% compared to the last edition - from 150 countries, for an event that saw the participation of 1,950 exhibiting industries and occupied a gross surface area of 375 thousand square metres.
“It is a great success for our Federation and for the Bologna Fair - declared the President of FederUnacoma Alessandro Malavolti - but above all for the agricultural machinery industries, a sector that surprises for its technological level, while it enters the collective imagination as a symbol of progress and civilization”.
“These machines are increasingly powerful and at the same time increasingly refined and sensitive to the environment and to safety, and they attract a crowd of young people, never as numerous as in this edition”.
In presenting the 2018 edition, during the press conference held on November 6 on the eve of the event, the CEO of FederUnacoma Surl, Massimo Goldoni, recalled how the success of this exhibition depends primarily on the will of the exhibiting industries to invest, offering new products and previews, and engaging the best corporate resources to enhance their brands and promote their products.
“The role of FederUnacoma - Goldoni said - was to create the best conditions for the meeting between supply and demand of machinery to be effective and productive, also by consolidating the relationship with the fair organization and the city of Bologna, under the contract that links EIMA to the city until 2030, and whose mission is to consecrate Bologna as the world capital of agricultural machinery”.
The 2018 edition confirms EIMA as a technical and commercial event as well as a collective moment for the promotion of agricultural machinery and exploration of the economic, political and social scenarios that are emerging for the primary sector and the environment.
“The Bologna show - director general of FederUnacoma Simona Rapastella pointed out - is a point of reference for machinery, but also for the agricultural world and the world of research and training, and it is the natural venue to bring out key topics for the agricultural sector and the related industry”.
“This year - highlighted Rapastella - particular attention was given to the issue of agricultural safety and generational change in the primary sector, a process that involves both young agricultural entrepreneurs and the new professional profiles that are emerging for experts, agronomists and specialized technicians who leave school and look at agriculture as an increasingly innovative and promising sector.”
