The Vicenza-based company Caron (headquartered in Pianezze) is previewing its new EC70 model fully-electric transporter at EIMA 2024. It will complement the enormous existing range of the Veneto-based company. Powered by a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor capable of a maximum power of 50 kW (nominal torque 200 Nm, peak torque 300 Nm), the new transporter is equipped with Webasto LiNMC 35 kWh batteries, R100 certified, with an operating voltage of 350 V and a charging capacity of up to 22 kWh. It should be noted that the EC70 is designed for the installation of an additional electric motor dedicated to the equipment (ePTO). The gearbox – two speeds (slow/fast) with reverser on the steering wheel – and the engine have been designed to overcome very steep slopes with a total mass of up to 5,000 kilos. Making the driving experience of the electric car from Caron even more enjoyable is the adjustable regenerative braking system, with retarder effect. The EC70 obviously offers a lot of customization possibilities and is particularly suitable for municipal applications, in indoor environments and particular settings that require the use of non-polluting and non-noisy vehicles.
