CMR304, the highly maneuverable Agrimec trailer
Countdown, at EIMA International, to launch an innovative four-axis fifth wheeled trailer, designed by Agrimec by Crosetto Elio & C. It is the CMR304 model which has been type-approved as requested by the rules of the Mother Regulation, and which reaches a laden mass of 32 tons. The machine - says the manufacturer in a technical note - represents a contact point among road safety, maneuverability, load capacity, and versatility. The strength of this model is the four-axles constructive architecture: three rear ones (the first and the last one are self-steering), while the front one is steering at the fifth wheel load drawbar. In this way, the machine gains in maneuverability in the tightest spaces, to reach corners inaccessible to other types of vehicles as dumpers. Compared to them, the new Crosetto trailer has also another ace in the hole, because the lack of a load on the eye makes it possible to use lighter tractors for the same mass.
In road driving, then, the CMR304 model has a more predictable and less “stressful” behavior for the tractor. This is because of the frame and its one hose structural profiles with high inertia resistance.
The tipping, on the other hand, is managed by an autonomous hydraulic system driven by the tractor PTO and by a cylinder with cemented pipes.
As far as the hopper is concerned, Agrimec has provided a wide range of options including classic frames with rounded bottom edges, steel or aluminum sides or with both. Under the banner of customization, there is also the opening mechanisms of the hermetically sealed tailgate and with various types of nozzles, which can be placed in view or protected with external covers.
