Checchi & Magli, innovative solutions for transplanting and harvesting

Not just transplanters. The company from Budrio (Bologna) arrived at EIMA International with all the main flagships of a catalogue that also includes mulching machines, onions harvesting machines, devices designed to implement and enrich the technological profile of its applications

 

At EIMA International, Checchi & Magli presented all the bestsellers of the range. Below is a quick overview of the technologies for transplanting and harvesting.

Wolf Pro is an application compatible with cone, pyramid and cube plug plants. It can work on bare soil or with mulching film. Supporting a maximum of 8 cups (their opening can be adjusted), it is equipped with a quick change and double wishbone system.

Baby Compact has a 6-cup distributor in continuous rotation, for a minimum distance between rows equal to 28 cm. Equipped with a transplanting unit with front flex rubber roller or with Skid, Baby Compact features an hourly production of 3,000/4,000 plants per operator.

Unitrium 45 is one of the great new products from Checchi & Magli at the Bologna show. It stands out for its 10-cup distributor with continuous rotation (the minimum distance between rows is 45 cm) and for a production yield of 5,000/6,000 plants/hour per operator. Among the strong points of this model, the floating drive wheel independent from the transplanting units, the self-cleaning expulsion system with rear spherical joint and the compacting wheels with reduced edge.

Dual 12 Gold is a model equipped with 12 cups with quincunx unloading and a parallelogram for each element. The operator can work on 2 rows at the same time.

The Unifox is a distributor with 10 clamps (optionally there is a 5, 15 or 20 version), with hourly production equal to 2,000/2,500 plants per operator, drive wheel floating and independent for each transplanting unit. These are the strengths of this model, recommended for bare root plants (sweet potatoes, strawberries and lavender).

Baby Trium is a compact machine with a 6-cup dispenser (continuous rotation) that ensures a production yield of 3,000/4,000 plants per hour per person. It is suited for low power tractors and is offered with front flex rubber roller or with Skid.

With a production of 6,000/7,000 plants per hour per operator, the transplanter Texdrive Beststands out for the 6-cup dispenser with continuous rotation (10 or 12 cups on request) and the ability to process double-row plants with a 40 cm distance; whereas the model Foxdrive R14 has a 14-pin distributor, compatible with bare root plants or rooted in cone, pyramid and cube plug. Particularly suitable for very close distances (from 9 to 12 cm), it is used mainly for cultivating leeks and onions.

Dual 12 Compact is a machine that also suited to working on close inter-rows (salads, for example). It comes with a 12-cup distributor with continuous rotation (not jerky) and with a distribution system in quincunx coupled rows. The distance between the rows can be adjusted between 25 cm and 30 cm, whereas Plastic Stop Plus is a mulcher compatible with plastic or biodegradable materials (two versions are provided: with films up to 140 cm or 190 cm). It is available with plowshares or with discs, with and without a stainless steel front roller.

SP Onion is a professional machine for harvesting onions (all varieties). It comes with a 3-point fixed or oscillating attachment and a mechanical transmission with a cardan shaft. The clutch is optional.

Nitro Power Shock is a device designed to increase the tamping pressure of the compacting wheels of each transplanting element. It is recommended on hard and compact terrains, where it offers a pressure adjustment range between 5 and 50 Bar, which translates into a significant increase in compaction (up to 60% more according to the manufacturer’s data). The nitrogen pneumatic accumulator ensures the oscillation of the units through the double wishbones.

Electro Rapid Shift is an electric kit for changing the inter-plant distance, popular for its great precision (thanks to the brushless motors), the compact size, the customized multifunction display, the weather protection system, the connections and the wiring derived from the automotive sector.
