The RinascItalia Tour, the initiative created by Aproflor to promote 'Comune Fiorito' ['Community in Bloom'] certification in Italian municipalities, started on 4 February in Turin.

Asproflor is the association of Italian floriculturists and for 15 years has been promoting the image of Italian floriculture, green tourism and the role of flowers in the daily life of the city fabric with the national Comuni Fioriti competition, which from 2019 has become the "Comune Fiorito" Quality Living Environment Mark, thus also certifying the quality of reception, respect for the environment and sociality.

With a branded camper van, RinascItalia will visit 645 town administrations in 9,000 kilometres along the Italian coastline to motivate them to adopt the philosophy of "Comune Fiorito" certification.

From Piedmont, Asproflor's vehicle will move on to Muggia, the easternmost border in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and will then descend along the Adriatic coast to Sicily, then up the Tyrrhenian coast to Ventimiglia in Liguria and conclude its journey in Sardinia in December.

"Let's make hope bloom" is the slogan of the initiative, which will allow a comparison with the different local realities on environment and sustainable tourism.

The tour will also make a stop in Bologna during EIMA International - which for years has hosted the annual Comuni Fioriti awards - scheduled from 9 to 13 November, during the two final days of the event. The Facebook group "RinascITALIA Comuni Fioriti" will make it possible to follow all the activities with photos, videos and comments.

At the end of the journey, Asproflor, which is part of the Communities in Bloom international floral certification circuit, will plant trees in the areas most affected by last summer's fires, particularly in Sardinia, Sicily and Calabria, to support these areas and offset the CO2 produced throughout the journey.
