Bargam V-Track: Unique Grape Harvesting
Bargam’s V-Track grape and olive harvester has been winning star attention at the big industrial show-cases – at Fieragricola in Verona and, on June 19-20, at the Enovitis field demos at Ca’Tron di Roncade near Treviso.
Bargam is billing the machine as unique in its field, above all thanks to its U-shaped frame, which makes it possible to change the harvesting head by simply slipping it in and out on slides, or almost. All you have to do is remove four bolts and two screws, unhitch the hydraulic pipes and in fifteen minutes it is done.
This ease in changing head makes the V-Track a high performer, also boosted uniquely by a frame whose axis can move into an offset position by 20 cm to right or left, with a 60 cm offset in height for the pistons and wheels. The chassis higher than what is offered by the competition, reaches a 3-meter unloading height easily.
There is also a system to steer the machine and keep it automatically aligned. Once the electronic control system has been fed figures on the density of vegetation on the vines, harvesting will given an excellent yield with as little damage to the vines as possible. Shaking width can also be regulated, and the driver can calibrate shaking frequency and the extension of the flails from the cab.
In another advanced touch, the V-Track enjoys electronic levelling laterally and between front and rear. The harvesting hopper is thus always horizontal, reducing losses through grape drift, an important detail in preserving vegetation.
A key navigation device also keeps the machine perfectly centred on the vine row, which also means that further tools working off the same frame can cover precisely half the inter-row area on each side, a boon when working with rotary harrows or other equipment.
