Food security:

balancing

the

agricultural

system

Paesi emergenti e dei colossi asiatici. Le enormi superfici

destinate alla produzione di biocombustibili rappresentano

anch’esse un paradosso dal punto di vista della sicurezza

alimentare, anche se la diversificazione delle fonti resta una

priorità a livello globale e i combustibili d’origine agricola

garantiscono un impatto ambientale molto minore rispetto

alle altre fonti energetiche.

Per gestire la complessità delle problematiche legate all’a-

gricoltura – questo è emerso dai lavori del convegno, cui

hanno partecipato come relatori anche Fabio Degli Esposti,

Direttore Generale Nespresso Italiana; Maria Chiara Gad-

da, Deputato PD al Parlamento Italiano; Mario Guidi, Presi-

dente Confagricoltura; Livia Pomodoro, presidente Milan

Center For Food Law and Policy e che è stato introdotto da

Marco Lucchini, direttore generale Fondazione Banco Ali-

mentare Onlus – occorre una strategia politica accorta e

lungimirante. Esperienze significative come quelle illustra-

te dai relatori offrono spunti su come razionalizzare il si-

stema di accesso alle risorse alimentari, e come realizzare

modelli economici più efficienti. Dopo l’Expo di Milano – ha

ficient economic models. Livia Pomodoro said that after the Milan

Universal Exposition, the issue of the right to food must not be lost

sight of and contemplation must be continued in quarters specifi-

cally assigned, such as the Millennium Goals in which a priority agen-

da is created. Maria Chiara Gadda affirmed that legislative instru-

ments such as the one aimed at countering the waste of food must

be backed along with the good practice system applied to agro-food

supply chains and the distribution of these assets. Fabio Degli Es-

posti of Nespresso outlined an emblematic case involving raising the

value of the entire coffee supply chain with higher production prices
