Battery-powered engines: solutions from Briggs & Stratton
Briggs & Stratton will be in Bologna this year with a portfolio full of new products. Here is a glimpse at some of the technologies that will debut at the 46th annual EIMA International event.
Vanguard 48V 1.5 KWH. An interchangeable commercial battery which fits most applications and is also interchangeable among them. According to the manufacturer, the battery, in addition to being quiet, does not require maintenance and does not produce polluting emissions.
Vanguard Charger. For use with Vanguard's lithium-ion batteries. Connectable to standard power outlets, the chargers can be combined in parallel to reduce charging times. In particular, the portable Vanguard 1425W model is suitable for the interchangeable Vanguard Si1.5 commercial batteries and is equipped with an integrated docking station that makes it possible to connect and disconnect the battery and the charger quickly and easily.
Vanguard 300. A single-cylinder, horizontal-shaft engine equipped with TransportGuard technology, which prevents oil and fuel dilution during transport, and fitted with a standard cyclonic air filter. Time between oil changes are now extended up to 200 hours.
Vanguard Battery Systems. Coming soon to the market, Vanguard battery systems are high-power battery-powered motors featuring permanent magnet brushless technology. Designed to integrate into the various applications developed by OEMs, Vanguard engines are built to automotive standards and require no maintenance. Construction benefits include the standardized assembly procedures that facilitate replacement in case of emergency.
Vanguard controller. Integrated motor controllers featuring an automotive-grade design, auto-tuning, fault protection and multiple control modes (speed, torque).
